RAT COMIC BOOKS
I first met the bedraggled, mistreated, pain-filled animal I now know as Roger Rat in a maze of cages at Death Sciences Laboratories. How he escaped the fate of millions of others is a miracle. But he did get out, and he shows up from time to time. He tells me his stories. I write them down.
The words may not exactly be his, but I try to get as close to his perceptions as possible -- and rats are very perceptive animals. The vulgate that he is exposed to is not adequate for the task, so I expand at times on his terse and sometimes profane account.
But not to worry: I am an avid student of the popular culture and language. Yes indeed. I trust you will find me a credible amanuensis.
